The ones defeated Pulev, has been Anthony Joshua’s IBF mandatory challenger for about almost two full years and has waited patiently, even granting the Joshua a favour to claim back the titles from Andy Ruiz Jr. back in 2019 after losing the belts in his American debut.

Joshua with a victory against Pulev on Saturday will be able to turn his focus towards a potential unification fight with the WBC champion in 2021. Ahead of the fight, there had been rumours moving around that the WBC champion will be in the venue to scout and access his possible 2021 opponent but the “Gypsy King” went on social media to clarify the Boxing World.

“This is Tyson Fury, the Gypsy King. Just a quick one guys, I will not be attending any boxing this weekend. For all the rumours this weekend that I’ll be attending some boxing, I will not be. Don’t expect fireworks, don’t expect any action from the Gypsy King because I’ll be grafting, I’ll be working as usual, always staying fit and ready. Good night and god bless,” Fury stated.

Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s promoter has also tried his best to bring the “Gypsy King” to the Arena during the event and even revealed that SkySports and DAZN have also been in talks with the Gypsy King in order to have in promote the anticipated 2021 showdown.

“I messaged him saying ‘you’re more than welcome’ and I know DAZN were talking to him about working on the night, I know Sky were too,” said Hearn.

“Some fighters think that it feels like you’re chasing it. There’s nothing to chase. We know what the deal is. If I was Fury, I would want to watch AJ up close. That’s why AJ came to Usyk against Chisora, to support Chisora, but also to see Usyk up close. Listen, I’d like to be in a position on Saturday where we’ve got a deal, we have an agreement, these are the dates we are working on now let’s go and find a venue.
