The UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno have both agreed to collide in the Main Event of UFC 256, which takes place 21 days from their UFC 255 outing on the 12th of December.

Figueiredo had just submitted Alex Perez in two minutes in the main event of UFC 255 at the UFC Apex, when the UFC President announced the promotion wants him to make a quick turnaround and compete against Moreno, who also won a TKO victory over Brandon Royval on the same card.

Dana White announced the promotion are working towards a fight between the Brazilian Figueiredo (20-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) and Mexican Moreno (18-5-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) for the UFC 256 card which will take place at the same venue on Dec.12th.

“We’re going to keep (Figueiredo) here,” White told reporters, including MMA Junkie, at the post-fight news conference. “He’s not going back to Brazil. We’re going to turn him right around (in) December. That’s what we’re working on.”

News emerged from UFC broadcast partners ESPN, moments after the press conference that both sides have agreed to collide on Dec. 12 with the 125 pound title at stake. The fight card will be staged at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and will be broadcasted Live on Pay-per-view following prelims on espn2 and ESPN+.

The win over Perez was the first Defence of the title, Figueiredo won from a submission win over Joseph Benavidez to win the then Vacant 125 pound belt in July. Figueiredo is now on a five fight winning streak and he has been able to finish seven of his last 10 opponents.

Moreno is also undefeated in his last five outings, boasting a 4-0-1 record, which includes wins over  Royval, Jussier Formiga and Kai Kara-France and a split draw with Askar Askarov.
