Man United 4 -1 Basaksehir : Bruno Fernandez Stars In Red Revenge

Manchester United defeated Istanbul Basaksehir 4 – 1 in UEFA Champions League day four fixture at Old Trafford and are now a point away from Round Of 16 qualification with two games left to round up the group stage of the competition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team were able to revenge their 2 nil loss to the Turkish side with a dominant win and were already 3nil up by the half time whistle. The Red Devils were lined up in an attacking fashion and that was evident from the kickoff whistle.

United bombarded the Basaksehir defence consistently till they were able to get a breakthrough in the seventh minute, when Fernandez put the host ahead with a volley. That wasn’t all as United almost went two up by the 12th but the flag went up, making void their superb build up.

United kept their attack up and by the 22nd minute, Fernandez made it two after a loose ball roles into his part. David de’Gea displayed some incredible form despite having very little to worry him. United were able to go 3Nil before half time, Rashford scoring from the spot after a selfless offer from Fernandez.

The Turkish side however found their way into the score sheet after a save from David de’Gea got under the camera and goal line technology saw the ball was in before the Spaniard saved the shot. That was the only consolation for the visitors as United on affected by that kept looking for openings.

Daniel James made it to the score sheet in the added time, becoming the first Welsh player to score a UEFA Champions League goal for the club since Ryan Giggs. United made a superb counter and James was at the end of it to score from close rage.
