Liverpool FC go top of the Premier League table with a 1 – 1 draw in their away visit to Brighton, which takes them top of the Premiere League table, though temporarily till Tottenham Hotspur take on Chelsea in tomorrow’s fixture.

The Reds started out with an early attack led by Diogo Jota in the first minute but failed to capitalise on the opportunity, from then on the Liverpool front three kept on terrorising the Seagulls till they too had their break and almost took the lead in the 10th minute. Brighton grew into the game, creating some dangerous balls in the Liverpool defence and Connolly, who is the key man for the Seagulls was able to win a Penalty after William catches his legs while defending a ball in the defence.

Neal Maupay stepped up and from the spot sent Allison the wrong way but failed to hit the target, which marked the beginning of an awful day for the forward. Few minutes later, he was subbed because of a hamstring injury. He became the first to start a game, miss a penalty and get subbed in the first half since Dennis Beckhamp in 1998.

Liverpool almost took the lead in the 34th minute after a quick combination between Salah and Firmino but the Egyptian was just offside and the goal got cancelled by VAR which left Liverpool Boss Mugen Klopp unhappy and left in a heated argument with the fourth official.

The first half ended goaless but Brighton had themselves to blame after losing two Wonderful chances to go ahead in the game.

Liverpool were able to break the deadlock in the hour mark. Diogo Jota was able to hit the target after a good build up by the Liverpool forwards. Jota was able to beat to Brighton defenders before send the ball into the net with a low shot.

Mane was able to score from a Robertson freekick but that was ruled out by VAR, who saw he went for the ball too soon. However the game got leveled by Pascal Gross, who from the spot was able to get the game level in the 92nd minute to win a much needed point for the Seagulls.
