Algeria Beat Senegal – To Clinch Second AFCON 2019 Glory
Algeria defeat Senegal in the African Cup Of Nations 2019 Final to clinch their second AFCON trophy on Friday 19th July at the Cairo International Stadium.
Algeria took the lead with Baghdad Bounedjah deflected just two minutes into the game and maintained the scoreline through the remaining minutes of the game.
Algeria qualified through a tough group that consisted of Senegal, Tanzania and Kenya. They trashed Guinea 3 – 0 in the round of 16 and edged Ivory Coast in the quater finals to set up a clash with Nigeria in the Semi final.

Senegal on the other hand, earned six points in the group stages and finished second behind Algeria. They went on to defeat every of their knockout opponents with a goal to nil. Except Tunisia whom they needed an extra time goal to make into the finals.
Senegal will now have to wait a little longer before they challenge again for the prestigious trophy.
