After the first half was played out goalless, Valérie Gauvin scored eight minutes into the second half and this time, VAR allowed it stand but the celebration only lasted 11 minutes. Thaisa leveled the game with a finish from close range, despite being ruled out by the referee, VAR made it stand.

Both teams threatened less after going leveled and only Tamirez had the ball in the net but this was ruled an offside by VAR, leaving the game leveled at full time.

The first half of extra time was slow due to fatigue and remained draw through out but immediately after the restart, Amandine Henry took the Brazilian defense by surprise, finishing off from close range to ensure they reach the Quarter finals.
