Andrew Cancio Stops Alberto Machado In Round Three To ReReta WBA Belt
Andrew Cancio (21-4-2, 16 KOs) made easy work of Alberto Machado (21-2, 17 KOs) again in Rematch. This time knocking him out in the third round to retain the WBA “regular” super featherweight title On Friday night at the Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio, California.
Cancio pulled an unforeseen upset against Machado in February, overcoming an early scare to drop Machado three times for a stoppage victory in the fourth round.

In the Rematch, Machado who looked to regain his title, had Cancio cut in the eye by the second round and was looking very strong in the second round but by the end of the round Cancio took charge, battering him with body shots and combinations.
The first round was very close, Machado used his bigger frame to his advantage, making use of distance but Cancio landed the better and more calculated punches of the frame.
Early in the third round, Cancio landed a body shot that kept Machado down for the full 10 count.
