Teofimo Lopez Vs  Masayoshi Nakatani IBF Title Eliminator On July 19

Teofimo Lopez

Lightweight star Teofimo Lopez seem one Fight away from a title shot after, as he faces unbeaten Masayoshi Nakatani, for the IBF No. 1 spot, in the main event of a Top Rank card from the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

The unbeaten Lopez (13-0, 11 KOs) in his last outing stopped Edis Tatia, as Co – main event on the Terence Crawford vs Amir Khan card last month, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Lopez is rated No. 3 by the IBF while Nakatani is rated No. 4 and the top two spots are actually vacant. This makes it more appropriate for the two to collide in order to fill the top two spots.

A win here for Lopez will leave him in the mandatory position to fight IBF lightweight champion Richard Commey, which will in turn open the doors for a unification with WBA/WBO champion Vasiliy Lomachenko in a pay-per-view bout by the first quarter of 2020.

Lopez have been campaigning for a fight with Lomachenko but the Ukrainian feels, Lopez should get a belt to put things evenly at stake.
