Leigh Wood Stops Ryan Doyle In The 10th To Retain Commonwealth Strap
Commonwealth featherweight champion Leigh Wood (22-1, 12 KOs) defended his title in stunning fashion, knocking out Ryan Doyle (17-4-1, 9 KOs) in the 10th round at the Nottingham Arena, Nottingham.
Ryan Doyle, who has now lost two Fights in a row came in on the back of a loss to Jordan Gill in October, while Leigh Wood was on a 13 fight winning streak, which dates back to 2014, when he lost to Gavin McDonnell.
The first few rounds of other fight were slow, with Wood winning the rounds easily without much reply from the challenger but after then, really let his hands go in the fifth and began to punish Doyle with hard punches, connecting regularly to the head and the body.
