WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson made a successful 130 pound debut against Felix Caraballo, working him down to a sixth round stoppage victory in a non title fight at the MGM Grand Conference Center on Tuesday night.

Stevenson toyed with his opponent, breaking him down with every shot before, eventually ending the fight with a big body shot in the sixth round. The shot sent Caraballo to his knees and his gloves on the canvas and while stuck there because of the pains, the referee Tony Weeks was forced to end the fight at exactly 1:31 of the sixth.

With the win, the 2016 silver medallist Stevenson retained his unbeaten record and improved to (14-0, 8KOs). UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has promised he won't be using Tony Ferguson's Mental Health issues against Him in the build up to their fight which is billed as one of the biggest fights in UFC Lightweight history.

Nurmagomedov (28-0 MMA, 12-0 UFC), and Ferguson (25-3 MMA, 15-1 UFC) both shared the stage in a press conference on Friday and were both few inches away from one another during the faceoff ahead of their meeting in UFC 249 , which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena on April 18.

Ferguson has always been unique in his way of life and how he builds up to a fight but his recent behaviour has drawn concerns from his family and some of this attitudes are somewhat unusual for a professional fighter of his standard. However, issues about his mental health were raised during the press conference but was ignored by h and when the champion was asked, he said he wouldn't like to bring Ferguson's personal issues into the build up.
“Nothing personal here, I don’t want to talk about his problems – family stuff, mental stuff. This is his problem,” Nurmagomedov told reporters, including MMA Junkie, at Dominance MMA media day. “I don’t want to talk about his problems. Everybody has problems. Nobody is safe. If he need help we have to help him, but we’re going to fight next month. I don’t want to think about my opponent and talk about his mental health.”

There was huge tension between the fighters during the Press conference, with both going deep into their personal life. however, there has been quite a history between the two as they have been booked four times in the past and both pulling out of two each.

Despite the tension witness during the press conference, Nurmagomedov side he was only having some fun and will be definitely ready to deliver the fun the fight is promising.
“I think it was fun because Tony’s funny guy,” Nurmagomedov said. “Next month, fighting, we hope we will be fighting, and this is very interesting fight. Dream fight for fans, for you as media, for fighters everywhere. Like fan, I love this fight with Tony.”
