Joseph Benavidez Deiveson Figueiredo

Deiveson Figueiredo won probably the biggest win of his career with a second round stoppage victory over Joseph Benavidez in the main event of UFC on ESPN+ 27 on Saturday night in Norfolk VA.

The fight initially had the 125 pound Championship available for any of the two two fighters to come out victorious but Deiveson Figueiredo couldn't make weight making the title available for only Joseph Benavidez but Benavidez, from the results wasn't up to the task.

Despite the setback Figueiredo got involved with Benavidez, engaging him in a serious brawl in the opening round, scored a knockdown and even attempted a few submissions but Benavidez was up to the task ,sliding out of each attempt and after getting back to his feet, had his own share of success, landing combinations and avoiding coumters.

The second round was more like the first but this time Benavidez had more of the success, sticking to the game plan of landing and sliding out of the corresponding counters but was a little reckless in his approaches which led to an accidental clash of heads that left a huge cut on his forehead and with that a disadvantage. Figueiredo saw the opportunity ,pounced on it and forced a stoppage at exactly 1:54 of the second round
