WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson made a successful 130 pound debut against Felix Caraballo, working him down to a sixth round stoppage victory in a non title fight at the MGM Grand Conference Center on Tuesday night.

Stevenson toyed with his opponent, breaking him down with every shot before, eventually ending the fight with a big body shot in the sixth round. The shot sent Caraballo to his knees and his gloves on the canvas and while stuck there because of the pains, the referee Tony Weeks was forced to end the fight at exactly 1:31 of the sixth.

With the win, the 2016 silver medallist Stevenson retained his unbeaten record and improved to (14-0, 8KOs). Stevenson was placed a 100-1 favourite, heading into the fight and he proved right the bookmarkers by winning all the five rounds (50-44, 50-44, 50-43) before the stoppage, dropping Caraballo (13-2-2, 9 KOs) twice in the first round…

Jermall Chalo will be defending his WBC interim middleweight title against Brandon Adams in a Card supported by WBA interim light heavyweight champ Marcus Browne, who also defends his title against his secondary 175-pound crown against former WBC champ Jean Pascal in  a double header main event on June 29 at NRG Arena, Houston.

The fight was initially scheduled for June 8 or June 15 but was rescheduled to June 29 to eliminate head-to-head competition for viewership from Gennady Golovkin’s fight against Steve Rolls on June 8 at Madison Square Garden in New York (DAZN) and the Tyson Fury-Tom Schwarz heavyweight bout June 15 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Charlo (28-0, 21 KOs) is coming off a tough decision win over Russian southpaw Matt Korobov in December 22, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. His challenger Brandon Adams (21-2, 13 KOs) soundly defeated Shane Mosley Jr. (13-3, 8 KOs) by unanimous decision in the season finale of the season five of “The Contender” late last year.

Marcus Browne will be defending the secondary title he won by easily out-boxing Sweden’s Jack (22-2-3, 13 KOs) on the Manny Pacquiao-Adrien Broner undercard at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Jack fought with a bad cut on his forehead and just couldn't match Browne, who won on points 119-108, 117-110 and 116-111.

Pascal (33-6-1, 20 KOs, 1 NC) on the other hand, is coming off a one-sided, 12-round decision loss to WBA’s true light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (16-0, 11 KOs) in his last fight, November 24 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
