WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson made a successful 130 pound debut against Felix Caraballo, working him down to a sixth round stoppage victory in a non title fight at the MGM Grand Conference Center on Tuesday night.

Stevenson toyed with his opponent, breaking him down with every shot before, eventually ending the fight with a big body shot in the sixth round. The shot sent Caraballo to his knees and his gloves on the canvas and while stuck there because of the pains, the referee Tony Weeks was forced to end the fight at exactly 1:31 of the sixth.

With the win, the 2016 silver medallist Stevenson retained his unbeaten record and improved to (14-0, 8KOs). Stevenson was placed a 100-1 favourite, heading into the fight and he proved right the bookmarkers by winning all the five rounds (50-44, 50-44, 50-43) before the stoppage, dropping Caraballo (13-2-2, 9 KOs) twice in the first round…

Brandon Figueroa stopped Yonfrez Parejo to win the WBA interim junior  Featherweight title On Saturday night in  Danny Garcia-Adrian Granados undercard at Dignity Health Sports Park.

The fight started out a much more competitive back and forth battle, which lasted for the first five rounds. Figueroa constantly attacked the Veteran Venezuelan with body shots and this began giving its dividends after the fifth round.

Parejo started retreating and Figueroa sensing blood, chased his opponent around the ring and stopped him from escaping, handing him the punishment there on the ropes.

This continued in the remaining rounds and by the eight round, Parejo's corner had seen enough of the one sided beating and had to stop the fight, handing Figueroa the win.

With the win, Figueroa improves to 14 knockouts in his 19 professional fights, including the last six bouts. He said after the fight he said :

"This was definitely one of my stronger training camps,” Figueroa said. “We did a lot of work on my legs and strengthening them. It puts a little more pop in my punches. The conditioning was important too because I know this guy isn't going to go down easy."
