Woodley went into the fight after almost more than a year away from the Octagon and his return wasn't as palatable as he perceived, with Gilbert Burns pressuring and dominating him from the opening round till the end to win a unanimous decision 50-44 twice and 55-45 on the Judges scorecards.
“I’m very happy. I trained so hard for this fight. I knew I could do it. I was calling this guy out for a reason,” Burns told Daniel Cormier in his post-fight interview. “My name now has got to be the No. 1 contender. I love the champ, my training partner Kamaru Usman, but c’mon – give me the shot. I’ve got a lot of love for you, but I’m next. I want to fight for the title. If they want to make the f…

Khabib Nurmagomedov : Floyd Mayweather Is Too Old

Khabib Nurmagomedov - UFC Lightweight Champion

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is presently waiting for his NSAC punishment for his part in the UFC 229 post Fight brawl, which also included Conor McGregor but that doesn't prevent him from making his fighting wish list.

Tony Ferguson, Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have all been on the minds of MMA Fans, but what does the UFC lightweight champion think of this prospective opponents.

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Khabib rated his possible opponents and added he will not be rematching Conor McGregor.

“Georges St. Pierre is a very big name,” said Khabib. “I like, an opponent who is a very tough opponent and he’s a little bit bigger than me. If we’re gonna fight, we have to fight at 155, because 170 is his weight and he’s gonna be a little bit bigger than me. For me it’s like a smart decision taking him to 155. He’s a very big challenge for me. Like, for my legacy, he’s a very good match-up for my legacy, for fans, for money, for everywhere now. I don’t know about his future, about his plans, but I respect him. In my opinion, he’s the greatest athlete who ever competed in the UFC, because he’s a champion inside the cage and outside the cage too. We’ll see.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov also claimed Floyd Mayweather is too old but admitted he will bring good money and something to help strengthen his Legacy.

“He’s old now,” Khabib said. “If you talk about like if I’m gonna compete with young lions in boxing, of course it’s gonna be very tough for me. Like, even if you talk about Canelo or Golovkin, these guys are dangerous. But Mayweather now is old, 41, 42 years old. You know, but he’s a very big name. If we can take very big fish, why not?
“A lot of people don’t understand about age, about when you did in competition. Like, they think, ‘oh, Mayweather and that’s it,’ or, ‘Conor and that’s it’. They don’t know what’s inside. We can take everything what they have. You know, all his 50-0, we can take this because he’s too old, too small, and it’s gonna be smart decision for my future, for legacy, for money, for fans, for everywhere.”
