WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson made a successful 130 pound debut against Felix Caraballo, working him down to a sixth round stoppage victory in a non title fight at the MGM Grand Conference Center on Tuesday night.

Stevenson toyed with his opponent, breaking him down with every shot before, eventually ending the fight with a big body shot in the sixth round. The shot sent Caraballo to his knees and his gloves on the canvas and while stuck there because of the pains, the referee Tony Weeks was forced to end the fight at exactly 1:31 of the sixth.

With the win, the 2016 silver medallist Stevenson retained his unbeaten record and improved to (14-0, 8KOs). Stevenson was placed a 100-1 favourite, heading into the fight and he proved right the bookmarkers by winning all the five rounds (50-44, 50-44, 50-43) before the stoppage, dropping Caraballo (13-2-2, 9 KOs) twice in the first round…

UFC Hamburg Results : Anthony Smith Ends Shotgun Rua With A Devastating 89 Second KO

Ex-middleweight Anthony Smith has elevated himself into the light heavyweight ranks with brutal KO of another light heavyweight contender Mauricio (shotgun) Rua. This time needing just 89 seconds of the opening round.

Smith (26-10) had last months ended  Rashad Evans in early June, sending him into retirement with just 53 seconds into the opening round in his debut at 205 but this one will surely send a message to every top light Heavyweight in the division.

At the 45th minute, Rua dodged a counter strike from Smith but his kick afterwards was replied by about a dozen punches backing him up by Smith

Rua backed down and Smith capitalized with more punishment. A hard right hand, followed by a brutal right elbow to the temple were enough to put Rua out on his feet. He fell backward into the fence and another strike before the referee Marc Goddard got in to stop it.

Rua didn't realize the fight had ended, he was still trying to take down referee Marc Goddard after 10 seconds of the Stoppage.

“I respect Jimi more than anyone in this division,” Smith said. “But I think Alexander Gustafsson needs an opponent, so I’ll see you in L.A.”

“I just believe in myself and I believe in my coaches and my support system,” Smith said. “I’ve got three beautiful daughters and a wife at home. I do this for them, not for me. … Elbows are one of my favorite techniques. My arms are so long, and I have to throw something to close that distance. My elbows are nasty man.”
