WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson made a successful 130 pound debut against Felix Caraballo, working him down to a sixth round stoppage victory in a non title fight at the MGM Grand Conference Center on Tuesday night.

Stevenson toyed with his opponent, breaking him down with every shot before, eventually ending the fight with a big body shot in the sixth round. The shot sent Caraballo to his knees and his gloves on the canvas and while stuck there because of the pains, the referee Tony Weeks was forced to end the fight at exactly 1:31 of the sixth.

With the win, the 2016 silver medallist Stevenson retained his unbeaten record and improved to (14-0, 8KOs). Stevenson was placed a 100-1 favourite, heading into the fight and he proved right the bookmarkers by winning all the five rounds (50-44, 50-44, 50-43) before the stoppage, dropping Caraballo (13-2-2, 9 KOs) twice in the first round…

Manny Pacquiao scored a seventh round KO victory over Lucas Matthysse, knocking him down three timestbeforetstopping him in the seventh round of their scheduled 12-round, 147-pound championship match at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The first ballot hall of Famer Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KOs) hashnot won via KO for over 9 years and his last against Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto in the 12th round of their welterweight title fight in November 2009.

The 53-year-old Argentine Matthysse (39-5, 36 KOs, 1 NC) was not able to contain the speed of the 39 year old Manny Pacquiao and didn't seem to hurt him throughout the fight.

Pacquiao now becomes the WBA world welterweight champion, while often out Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs, 1 NC) is the WBA’s “super” 147-pound champion, its true title-holder in that division.

He had lost his last fight and title via a controversial 12 round decision to Horn (18-1-1, 12 KOs). A major upset which saw him lose his WBO welterweight title last July 2 in Brisbane, Australia.

While for Matthysse, he was trying to defend a WBA world welterweight championship he won by knocking out Thailand’s Tewa Kiram (38-1, 28 KOs) in the eighth round of his last fight, January 27 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
