WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson made a successful 130 pound debut against Felix Caraballo, working him down to a sixth round stoppage victory in a non title fight at the MGM Grand Conference Center on Tuesday night.

Stevenson toyed with his opponent, breaking him down with every shot before, eventually ending the fight with a big body shot in the sixth round. The shot sent Caraballo to his knees and his gloves on the canvas and while stuck there because of the pains, the referee Tony Weeks was forced to end the fight at exactly 1:31 of the sixth.

With the win, the 2016 silver medallist Stevenson retained his unbeaten record and improved to (14-0, 8KOs). Stevenson was placed a 100-1 favourite, heading into the fight and he proved right the bookmarkers by winning all the five rounds (50-44, 50-44, 50-43) before the stoppage, dropping Caraballo (13-2-2, 9 KOs) twice in the first round…

Canelo Alvarez Vs Gennady Golovkin "GGG"

Canelo's trainer and manager Jose 'Chepo' Reynoso believes that Canelo Alvarez will be improved and developed when he faces the middleweight Champion GGG but feels the GGG won't be better, as he has reached his peak and can no longer improve.

The IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs) will Ones again face the Mexican boxing star Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) for their rematch on the 5th of May which is also the date of the Mexican holiday "Cinco De Mayo".

Canelo Alvarez was fighting for the first time at 160 middleweight limit against GGG and was able to stay all twelve rounds with the middleweight king, ending with a controversial 114-114, with another scoring 115-113 for Golovkin and a highly criticized card of 118-110 for Canelo.

Though the first controversially ended, Reynoso believes that his fighter improves after facing every opponent but Golovkin at his age, "35" can no longer improve and will find it difficult to face an improved Canelo.

"In every fight Saul has showed progress, but we believe that Golovkin is always the same fighter.... [Golovkin] has reached his limit, but Saul is a thinking fighter. Saul causes problems in the ring and I'm positive he will cause problems for Golovkin," Chepo told Beto Gonzalez.

"We can not [play around with] Golovkin, because it is very risky to get hit with the wrong punch. But I insist, Golovkin has already reached his limit and as they say in my ranch - "an old dog does not learn new tricks," so I don't think Golovkin is going to surprise Canelo - but we will be the ones who will surprise him."
