Artur Beterbiev Stops Enrico Koelling To Win IBF Light Heavyweight Title

Arthur Beterbiev rated No. 2 On IBF Rankings defeated the the Enrico Koelling, rated No. 3 on the same rankings to claim the Vacant IBF Light Heavyweight Title, which was left vacant by Andre Ward's retirement. The fight was initially scheduled to be a IBF title eliminator but was later made a title Fight after Ward's retirement.

Artur Beterbiev (12-0, 12 KOs) was almost made to go the distance by Enrico Koelling (23-2, 6 KOs) defensive show, clearly wasn't in for any chances against Artur but Artur kept coming forth, as he did from the start.

The second round is the only round Koelling landed any telling shots at Beterbiev but those shots lacked much power, as Beterbiev was able to take them and the last competitive round was the third, with Koelling landing a big shot and made a few nice shots.

The fourth round onward was controlled by Beterbiev, who went forward, taking advantage of Koelling's defensive stance to send shots around his gloves, as a result of his reluctance to hit back at the attacking Beterbiev.

Records are there to be broken, so Koelling was the first to enter the eight round with Beterbiev but this didn't change the tempo or pace in the fight, Koelling not giving back as he took took and Beterbiev comfortable with winning the rounds.

The Eleventh round was the round Beterbiev finally looked like he was going to take away the win with a knock out, making so much damage on Koelling, and in the last round floored him twice before the fight was stoped by the referee.
