The WBC Has ordered the Canelo-GGG rematch at the World Boxing Council’s fifty fifth Convention, which was held at the magnificent Fairmont Flame Towers Hotel, in Baku. The Capitol of Azerbaijan.



The WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman confirmed the rematch during his speech concerning matters surrounding the organization, which also included the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) which holds for fighters in the super middleweight and cruiserweight divisions.

The fight between the two ended with a controversial draw which has prompted the suspension of one of the Judges but Gennady (GGG) Golovkin better known as GGG retained all four titles after the fight ( WBC, IBO, IBF and WBA world title belts) at 160 lb's.

The rematch has not been given a specific date yet, but it most likely going to fall next year after the first quarter, in order to attract more of the Mexican community due to their holidays.

The convention which takes place yearly, had many notable and pervious world title holders present, a few of those include former heavyweight rulers Vitali Klitschko, Evander Holyfield and Middleweight great Champion Bernard Hopkins, just to name a few.
