Vitali Klitschko Seeks Revenge Fight Against Anthony Joshua

Vitali Klitschko

The 46 year old Vitali Klitschko, the elder brother to 41 year old Wladimir Klitschko, who got stopped by Anthony Joshua back in May, plans a revenge fight against Anthony Joshua for stopping the brother.

Wladimir Klitschko (54-4) who was then 41 years, retired after being stopped by Anthony Joshua IBF/WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) in the 11th round  back in April 29 at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Giving up an opportunity for a possible rematch.

But the elder brother, who is five years years older is out to revenge his brothers loss and with the feeling that he is partly to plane for the brothers loss in front of 100,000 fans, saying he advised his brother to act mildly on Joshua, who looked almost gassed out in the 6th,7th and 8th round, thinking he will find it difficult to recover.

He has been successful in the past, knocking out every one who defeated his brother. Twice in Vitali’s 16-year pro career he avenged Wladimir’s knockout losses to Ross Puritty and Corrie Sanders in knocking both of them. He is now 19 years older than his Brother's opponent and still feels he could do it as in the past.

“Wladimir lost the fight against Corrie Sanders, I knock out Corrie Sanders next fight, because I defend my brother,” said Vitali to Fighthub. “A fight against Joshua is my best wish. I have a feeling I can do it better, I have to fight Joshua and bring back the belt to the family.”

“It was great fight of Wladimir and Joshua, great fight,” said Vitali. “I feel a bit guilty, because I told to Wladimir in the corner please don’t be so active in round number six when Wladimir sent Joshua to the floor. I expect a big-muscled athlete to not recover, I was surprised, Joshua recovered so fast and stopped Wladimir. If I didn’t tell him to stop, then Wladimir might have knocked him out, six or maybe round number seven,”

Vitali Klitschko retired back in 2012 and has seen assumed a political position in his country but coming back from retirement will cost him his political post and a lot of training, also going to need a title, if facing Anthony Joshua is possible.

“Wladimir was for a long time the best heavyweight in the world. Joshua stopped him and this means he is the best one,” said Vitali. “But that was just a lucky fight, a lucky day for Joshua.”

Vitali Klitschko had done what he plans to do before, coming off retirement to win a World Title back in 2008, when he came from retirement after four years away to stop WBC champion Samuel Peters in the eight round.

The heavyweight division is getting tighter as many fighters are improved and many more coming up the line and for Joshua to be the best he will have a good list of fighters to defeat, Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker, Luis Ortis and Dillian Whyte.
