The fight which was hyped extensively on media, saw Mayweather lose the first four rounds of the contest but later picked up from there controlled the fight and eventually stopped the two Weight UFC champion back in August 26, at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

The fight which till today has kept the critics talking and many saying that shouldn't be counted as a boxing fight, due to the great rift between their careers but the Hunter disagrees and points out that Marciano's record also has some overmatched victories, if you look at his records from down below.

“If he broke the record, he broke the record. Why should there be an asterisk behind it?," Hunter told Fighthype.com
“It’s easy to say he’s [Conor] not a boxer, but you can’t say that now. He was an amateur boxer before he did MMA. It’s obvious that he can box. You can’t say it’s someone coming in off the street just learning how to box.”

“If you’re going to be fair and look at his fifty, then you should be fair and look at the beginning of Rocky’s 49. Compare it to who he fought. Now, there were levels to it, but at the same time, can you say any of Rocky’s early opponents had any more credentials than Conor McGregor? If you ask people right now to name five fighters that Rocky fought, they couldn’t get past Joe Louis or Ezzard Charles or Jersey Joe [Walcott]. When he was 35-0 he fought three guys with losing records in a row.”
