NSAC Executive Replies Conor McGregor Over Robert Byrd And Mayweather Bout
2/10/2017

Conor McGregor has been all over the News blabbing about Robert and Adelaide Byrd, calling names and making notable comments to the press concerning his fight with Floyd Mayweather which he lost Via 10th round Stoppage.

The UFC star who made his first major appearance since his loss to Floyd Mayweather in an interview with Carolina Pearce in Glasgow, opened up about the August 26th Bout but this time criticizing everything Robert Byrd did before the Fight, during and after the fight.

The UFC star who made his boxing debut against the future Hall Of Famer Floyd Mayweather felt the Stoppage which occurred in the 10th round was too early and believes he could still do more if the referee had given him a chance.

This has prompted a reply from Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) executive Bob Bennet, who believes the Bout ended well and that he does expect Conor to be making such statements.

“All I can say is we did our job,” Bennett told MMAFighting.com . “That’s what we get paid to do and that’s what we did. I find it very disappointing that Conor would make derogatory remarks that the fight was stopped too early when really the timing of referee Robert Byrd’s stoppage was impeccable. We looked out for his health and safety.”

“We did everything we could to ensure it was a level playing field,” Bennett said. “I think the fight was very exciting. The fans loved it. The health and safety of the fighter was always at the forefront, from the beginning of the fight".

“There’s no doubt Conor did a phenomenal job, fighting a future Hall of Famer. Obviously, Floyd had his game plan that worked as well. The actual stoppage, we looked out for the health and safety of the fighter, which is our responsibility.”
