The WBC has decided to honor the winner of the Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady “GGG” Golovkin fight with a unique belt called the Adolfo López Mateos Belt [aka Huichol belt] come September 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Belt which is the second edition of the Adolfo López Mateos Belt was displayed in Tuesday for the Boxing fans in Mexico and looks extraordinarily beautiful, representing how honored the WBC would love the winner of the Bout to be.

“The belt is one hundred percent Mexican and it is to honor the two dates that are celebrated annually in Mexican boxing on May 5 and September 16,” said World Boxing Council president Jose Sulaimán via Fight News. “The Huichol Belt is a beautiful piece, it has the Mexican flag and the flag of Kazakhstan, both fighters are at their best and is the one that fans have been waiting for, whoever wins will be ratified as the best in the world.”



Canelo Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) has rejected fighting for the WBC title in GGG's possession but no information is given on his view towards the new Belt and since Huichol belt is a honorary Belt Canelo wouldnt be defending it against WBC mandatory contender Jermall Charlo.

The fight will be broadcasted live on HBO pay-per-view come Sept 16. The fight which will have The unbeaten Triple G (37-0, 33 KOs) will be defending his unbeaten record as well as his IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight titles against Canelo, who will tender his prestigious Ring Magazine middleweight title.
The unbeaten Triple G (37-0, 33 KOs) has ruled over the Middleweight since 2010 and will be having his unbeaten record and  titles at 160 lbs at stake for the fight.
