Vasyl Lomachenko Stops Miguel Marriaga To keep WBO Super-Featherweight Title

Vasyl Lomachenko, successfully defended his WBO super-featherweight title, stopping Miguel Marriaga in the seventh round On Saturday.

Lomachenko (9-1-KO7) was very comfortable fighting the Marriaga (25-3-KO21), he toyed with the Colombian dropping him twice before his teammates intervened to stop the fight.

He controlled the game from unset dropping Marriaga in the third round, then Motioned his opponent to come and fight. He was caught Marriaga's Shot in the fourth round which left a bruise on his face and also an accidental clash of heads also let a cut on his face.

Lomachenko dropped his opponent again in the seventh round after a whole lot of beating but the Colombian still made it up and struggled to the end after which the Colombian's corner had to stop the fight to avoid a further beating.

Asked Of His Next Opponent

He said: "I think there are a few guys. There's Rigondeaux if he answers Dino's call. There's [Orlando] Salido (who defeated Lomachenko in his second pro fight). And there's [Miguel] Berchelt, who has a world title.

"For me it doesn't matter. I will fight anybody. I want to fight and I want to unify titles. [If I fight] Rigondeaux I think it looks the same as this.
"It is not my job [to find opponents]. My job is to work my best boxing in the ring."
