Paul Pogba Wins UEFA Europa League Player Of The Season

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been awarded the UEFA Europa League Player Of The Season.

The Manchester United star was nominated alongside two of his teammates Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan for the Inaugural Award.

The 24 year old Frenchman came out tops  in Votes by 48 coaches which participated in the group stage of the competition last season and 55 journalists selected by the European Sports Media (ESM) group.

Paul Pogba started 15 Europa League games for Manchester united, scoring three goals, two of which came in the 4-1 win against Fenerbahce at Old Trafford in the group stages and one in the Final against Ajax in May.

"Thank you," said Pogba, who did not attend the ceremony but collected his award earlier this week. "I'm really honoured to be the first to win the best player for the UEFA Europa League. Hopefully this season will be as good as last season – let's see!"
