Floyd Mayweather Vs Conor McGregor Referee and Gloves Decided

American Referee Robert Byrd has been selected by the Nevada State Athletic Commission as the Referee for the Mayweather - McGregor fight which is scheduled to hold on the 26th August, 2017.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission also approved the use of 8oz gloves for the bout and confirming the three judges, Burt Clements, Dave Moretti and Guido Cavalleri for the fight at a hearing which took place on Wednesday.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission met with the aim of choosing the referees and judges for the fight and also to make an exemption on their rule of 10oz Glove as both fighters had submitted an appeal to fight with 8oz.

Las Vegas-based referee Byrd refereed Mayweather's 2013 unanimous decision victory against Robert Guerrero.

Mayweather's most recent three fights, and his pro debut 21 years ago, were overseen by Kenny Bayless who was not considered as the referee for next weekend's fight due to critical comments..

Robert Byrd had overseen Floyd's fight with Guerrero back in 2013 where Floyd won via a unanimous decision. Mayweather has had his last three fights overseen by Kenny Bayless.

Conor McGregor, had earlier this week applied for an international judge which was also approved with the inclusion of Guido Cavalleri.
