Chelsea 2-3 Burnley : Match Report

Chelsea lost their opening game against the Clarets, who had showed good work in the first 45, scoring three goals but had lost concentration in the second conceding two despite facing a nine man Chelsea Squad. 

The Blues Lost a player in each of the halves but where able to net two goals, thanks to Goals from  David Luis and Alvaro Morata. Read full report Below. 

Second Half Report :Chelsea 2-3 Burnley

Chelsea are back on with defensive system changed from back three to four with Christensen, Alonso, Luis and Rudiger mounting the defence, the game now slide a little in Chelsea's favor.

The first few minutes had Chelsea rallying for their first goal, constantly calling Heaton to duty. Alonso looking more like a potential goal scorer after a long range Shot from him got tipped over by Heaton.

Club Record transfer Morata replaced Batshuayi and in a minute sent an attempt over the woodwork and two minutes later another long range from Alonso got tipped over by Heaton.

Chelsea looked to have recovered from their down turned first 45 minutes, unleashing a series of attack on the now defensive Clarets.

Morata has finally scored his Premier League debut goal, with a glancing header on Willian's perfect curl, which went past Heaton. It now remained two to fill up.

Three minutes after, Morata got another ball in the net but it was called off for off side. More yellow cards flew afterwards, Arfeild and David Luis at the end of that,the Later for his angry reaction on the Referee.

Cesc Fabregas got his second yellow card of the game, and Pawson waisted no time in showing him the way out after flying in on Cork, despite getting the ball, was no doubt another yellow card offense.

Chelsea surprisingly got the second goal in with some good teamwork from Azpilicueta and Morata setting up David Luis at the far end, for a perfect Volley into the net.
Burnley just Had to hold on to the end, defending seriously against nine determined Chelsea Men.

Chelsea 0-3 Burnley : First Half  Report

Chelsea started the game well controlling all possession but what was more intriguing was the second minute Alonso yellow card, a challenge on Matt Lowton.

The game was more of Chelsea till Cahill got his studs-up lunge on Steven Defour and off went Cahill with a straight Red from Referee Craig Pawson, which is the first red card of the season. Few minutes later Cesc Fabregas got another yellow for clapping at the referee.

Jeremie Boga is replaced with Andreas Christensen following the foul, but thanks to the foul, four minutes time, they got their goal called off for a foul and in another four, Sam Voakes hooks an untidy half-volley into the bottom corner to make it 1-0.

Burnley, now owned the game and though Chelsea had one or two chances to entertain their fans, but the Burnley defence, particularly Defour had the better of Willian, when ever he showed up.

Burnley added another lead using an extraordinary combination by S. Ward and Cork, first pushing the free kick short then, a pass to Cork, running into the box, smashed the ball across Thibaut Courtois and into the far corner for the second goal.

Chelsea got lost in the game, showing great frustration in their every move, they basically made the situation know and the Clarets capitalized on that, scoring another five minutes later.

Voakes was there unmarked, when he took an easy header from Defour's cross following another short free kick.

Chelsea's Stanford Bridge has lost its pillars and it wasn't long before a fight was withnessed, David Luis almost headbutting Robbie Brady. 
Pawson was there to break it up, but another referee could have taken a dim view of that incident. just by the stroke of half-time.


BURNLEY (4-5-1): Heaton; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Ward; Cork, Defour; Gudmundsson, Hendrick, Brady; Vokes.

SUBS: Taylor, Barnes, Westwood, Walters, Long, Pope, Arfield.

CHELSEA (3-4-3): Courtois; Rudiger, Luiz, Cahill; Azpilicueta, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Willian, Boga, Batshuayi.

SUBS: Caballero, Morata, Kenedy, Musonda, Christensen, Tomori, Scott.
