Arsenal 4 - 3 Leicester City : Match Report


The Gunners finally start the season with a win, thanks to Olivier Giroud's late header and Xhaka's incredible contribution, assisting two goals and maintaining a the rhythm in the midfield.

The Gunners had to come from behind twice to clinch the win with very committed players but it seems parts of the Arsenal supporter still want Arsene Wenger out bringing the "Wenger Out" banners again in the new seasom

Second Half Report

The foxes looked determined to upset the Gunners, as they start the second half on a good feet and their determination was given fruit in just 10 minutes after the break. Jamie Vardy got on target again,  heading in Mahrez's corner .

Arsenal got all out for a reply, forcing three saves from the Foxes's Schmeichel before the 75th minute. Both teams made a few changes to their squad.  Iheanacho, making his first Premier League start for the foxes.

The Gunners dominated the game for a while, as fatigue was more visible in the Leicester squad and by the 83rd, A. Ramsey leveled the game for the Gunners, assisted by Xhaka for a finish inside the box.

Arsenal had been excellent in the game since the Leicester goal but the exceptional contributions of Xhaka was evident, a good cross from a corner found Olivier Giroud, who never loses a late header and that's how Arsenal go back the lead.

First Half Report

It took just two minutes into the game for  Lacazette to score his Premier League debut goal, heading in Elneny's cross but the celebrations lasted for just two three minutes before S. Okazaki headed in the leveler assisted by H. Maguire. 

Arsenal dominated the game for almost fifteen minutes, forcing the foxes to the defense but it took just one sloppy pass from Xhaka for Leicester to create the next goal. Albrighton supplies the perfect cross to Vardy, who finishes behind Cech for the second goal.

Arsenal found themselves in the middle of a storm after the goal as foxes went all out to attack, turning tables. Their dominance lasted up until 45th minute but not till the added minutes got exhausted.

Welbeck got the Gunners leveled in the final minute of added time, as Kolasinac squared off Lacazette's failed shot to Welbeck for a simple finish, leaving the Gunners thankful for not trailing into Halftime
