Ex-Real Madrid Defender Pepe Joins Turkish Side Besiktas On Two Year Deal

Turkish Club Besiktas has confirmed the signing of Madrid defender Pepe on free transfer.

The Portuguese international, 34 years of age, had his contract at Real Madrid expired and on Tuesday had announced his arrival at Istanbul for negotiations. Just a day after his arrival the Turkish club confirms the deal on the club's Website.


A statement on the club's website read: "Pepe has joined the Black Eagles on a two-year deal. He will be paid a total of 9.5million euros in the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 season plus 4,000 euros per game he plays."

Pepe added in a quote on Besiktas' Twitter feed: "I had a number of offers from England, France and Italy, but I chose #Besiktas!"

Pepe has spent 10 years with the Spanish Giants, winning three Champions League, three La Liga titles and Two Copa del Rey trophies.
