Chile 0-1 Germany : 2017 Confederations Cup Final
2/6/2017

The Chileans started out well, attacking the German's right from the start, capitalizing on the inexperience of the German youngsters, but conceded a goal in the 20th Minute, which was totally against the flow of the game.

Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Vargas had their chances to put the Chileans ahead early in the first half but A truly terrible mistake by Marcelo Diaz in the 20th Minute, sees him run the ball into the feet of Timo Werner on the edge of the Chile box, allowing the RB Leipzig striker to square a pass over to Stindl, who then comfortably slots the ball into the back of an empty net.

Ter Stegen was the busiest of the two keeper's as Chile continued their good play with the ball in the Final third but towards the end of the first half the German's almost made it 2-0 twice, as  Draxler and Goretzka failed to finish of their created opportunities before the halftime whistle.

The game was pretty much the same in the second half with the Chileans could not pick out a clear cut chance throughout the remaining 45 minutes. Tempers flared in the 90th minute when Emre Can became embroiled in a confrontation with five Chile players after bowling over Sanchez and Ter Stegen had to keep his guard tight to clinch a win and thereby becoming the 2017 Confederations Cup Champions.
