Nantes Coach Sergio Conceicao Resigns To  Become Porto Manager

The French club Nantes Announced yesterday that their head coach Sergio Conceicao has left the club to take charge of Portuguese side Porto after spending Half a season with the club.

The Portuguese elevated Nantes from a 19th position in December to a Seventh place finish at the end of the season just outside, the Europa League Qualification spot.

"Sergio Conceicao made the directors of Nantes aware of his irreversible wish to join FC Porto, without delay," Nantes said. "In order to properly prepare the 2017-18 season in the best conditions, Nantes had no choice but to accept."

The Club had recently increased his contract till 2020 but have failed to make the Sergio Conceicao stay as agreements have been reached between Porto, which also includes his three Assistants.

"I tried to give him all the means to continue the adventure here," Nantes president Waldemar Kita said. "I wish him good luck."

The 42 year old will now head to a club he played for in 1996-1998 and also in 2004.
