Juventus Vs Real Madrid : 2016/17 Champions League Final Match Preview And Predictions

June 2nd, 2017

Juventus will have another Champions League final with a Spanish side in the span of three years, disappointed last time with a 3-1 defeat to the Catalan Giants whole their opponents Real Madrid will be going to defend their Champions League Trophy which will be the third time in 7 years and will be winning it for  the first time, if they succeed.

Juventus and Real Madrid have met in UEFA Champions League 18 times both sides winning  eight each, with two draws, which gives us the most leveled, record-wise Champions League final ever but both sides have their ways of getting things done.

Juventus will boast of their defence this season, conceding 28 goals in 42 games this season with Buffon in the goal which is the opposite for Real Madrid, who have conceded 49 goals in 40 matches played with Keylor Navas in goal. The Old Ladies have been so good defensively (E.g against Barcelona in the Quarter Final) while Madrid seem to have a hole in their defense despite having World Class defenders like Sergio Ramos or Dani Carvajal.

Juventus used the 5-3-2 formation in both legs against Monaco which gave them that defensive edge, paying off with wins with Dani Alves and Alex Sandro playing as full-backs and Giorgio Chiellini , Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci in the center of the defense, giving Dani Alves the free role in the flanks to create chances.

Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Varane and Marcelo will be picked to line the Los Blanco defense but Marcelo heavy tipped to impress with his creativity from the left wing and hinted that he and Dani Alves might very well decide the game.

Juventus have dominated Real Madrid in the Champions League, since losing out to them in  the 97/98 Champions League final. What gives hope to Real Madrid is the fact that Juventus only boast more in their Home but have had a mix result against Madrid away and on neutral grounds.

Madrid look more likely to concede goals but have a good and efficient forwards to make goals while Juventus score less goals as compared to Real Madrid and since they hardly concede will give the game some leveling.

I see the game leveled by halftime with a one Nil win by full time to Juventus.

Juventus 1- 0 Real Madrid
