(Tennis) Dominic Thiem Stops Rafael Nadal At The Italian Open


Rafael Nadal had his 17 game Unbeaten run ended by Dominic Thiem in the Quarter Final clash of the Italian Open on friday

Nadal lost two straight sets (6,4) (6,3) on Thiem, he had defeated last week in the Madrid Open Final. The 30 year Old Nadal had won consecutive clay-court tournaments in Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Madrid and was aiming for an eighth title at the Foro Italico.

The 23 year old Thiem had dominance from the start till finish, going high up 5-1 in the first set, but Nadal got back in   bringing the first set score to 5-4, but Thiem was well ready and needed just one of his two set points to finish the set off.

Nadal almost got himself back into the game in the second set though Thiem had almost closed out the set early saving two break points and go on to hold his serve but Thiem putting in several delightful returns that had the audience on their feet before closing the game.
