Ajax are probably in the finals now, after an electrifying display of iconic football at the Amsterdam Arena. The Dutch side gave the French side a total knock, netting four goals and conceding one.

Ajax registered their twelfth home win in all competitions, with a stunning performance from Bertrand Traore, who scored three goals, one in the first 45 and two in the second. The Dutch team had already scored three before a reply from the French side was recorded.

Ajax starting XI, average age of 22 years and 137 days, was the second youngest in a European competition this season. Even more impressively, in a table of the 10 youngest starting XI’s in the Europa League this season, while Genk are No.1

Traore opened the scoring in the 25' minute, but before then, it was all Lyon as midfielders Hakim Ziyech, Lasse Schone and Davy Klaassen in close proximity deep in their half, the home side could not build up, keeping Traore and Younes limited, but with their first touch inside the Lyon box, he gave Ajax a lead.

10' later the Dutch side doubled their lead, capitalizing on a poor clearance Kasper Dolberg doubled the lead, picked up pace and totally overshadowed the French side, earning a well deserved win in the first 45.

Their third goal came few minutes into the second half, Amin Younes added to the score line then the French side replied with one in the 66th minute, Mathieu Valbuena gave them some consolation.

Finally, the youngster Traore, scored again, giving the French side a tough Hill to climb in the second leg in France.
