12/4/2017

The Spanish giants Real Madrid came from behind to defeat the German Champions 2-1 at the Allianz Arena with Christiano Ronaldo scoring twice in the second half for the Zinedine Zidane Side.

Bayern Munich took the led in the 25th minute with Arturo Vidal bullet header from Thiago Alcantara's delivery after a good anticipated run by the Chilean into the crowded box.The Chilean almost made it two at the half time mark, but raised the ball above the goal post from the penalty Spot to the relieve of the Visitors who thought it was a wrong Call from the referee.
The First 45 ended in favour of the Host but few into the second Christiano Ronaldo leveled the game with a nice finish. Luka Modric found Carvajal in space down the right, and his cross was expertly swept into the bottom-left corner by Ronaldo, who was allowed to meet the ball unchallenged near the penalty Spot, ending his run of 659 minutes without a Champions League goal.

The game got sour for the Germans, as they got reduced to 10 men, a minute after the Hour mark due to Javier Martinez foul on Christiano Ronaldo. Javier Martinez was already with a yellow card when his tackle stopped the Portuguese. The reduction didn't have an immediate effect on the German side, but as the game went on, they found it difficult to cover the grounds causing an auto defensive strategy from the host implemented, giving a homely game to the Visitors.

The Visitors got the lead in the 77th minute, as the World Best Player Christiano Ronaldo poked a second giving the Spaniards a firm grip on the Semi's as they head into the Second Leg at Santiago Bernabeu. Ronaldo got the better of Germany's number one for the second time in the 77th minute, racing to meet Marco Asensio's curling cross from the left and prodding the ball through Neuer's legs and into the net.
The Spanish side had a third in the final minutes but this was called of for offside by the officials.
