Sunderland 2-2 Liverpool : Defoe Saves Moyes A Point From Liverpool

Liverpool met a very different Sunderland team in the stadium of Light though with the caliber of players in the Sunderland team Liverpool had the upper hand on possession and more perpetrating power from Sturidge who tested the Sunderland keeper from long range bringing for the Liverpool side some close calls.

Liverpool had 11 shots with five on target, most of the shots coming from Sturidge which sure makes his 19 minute goal a deserving one. Sturidge goal was a header which he perfectly changed the direction of shot which was header towards the keepers grip, showing great instincts and positioning.

The Sunderland side soon hit back with Defoe from the penalty Spot which came as a result of foul on Jong in the penalty box. Defoe made no mistake scoring his 10 goal of the season and came close to scoring again but his going round the keeper technique failed this time.

The second 45 had more of the first half trills as both teams added one more goal each to their tally in the same ways the first were scored. Liverpool first went ahead in the second half with Mane header, which made the game look promising with more efforts via the goal encouragement but the Sunderland side were up to the task in their defending and exceptional goal keeping.

Few times they came close, and closer with Michael Sturidge team work with Lallana but failed. Defoe scored his second towards the end of the game again from the penalty Spot for his 11th goal if the season which was as a result of the goals scorers hand ball in a bid to clear a Sunderland free kick.

Game ended draw as the David Moyes side are happy to get a draw from a strong side as Liverpool.
