Sunderland 1-0 Liverpool : Liverpool One Step Out Of EFL CUP Final

Liverpool fell to a one goal deficit at St Mary's, in the Semi Final first leg of the EFL CUP, Nathan Redmond capitalizing on Ragnar Klavan's mistake for the only goal in the 20th Minute, which was the difference, as the Jurgen Kloop side could not get the game leveled or possibly a win before the end of the game.

Southampton struggled in the beginning against Liverpool, defending hard and looking for a counter attacking loop, but later got their game, as apart from the goal Nathan Redmond had two more chances in the first 45 he failed to net, which might hunt them in the second leg.  Karius made a few notable savings which would have had Liverpool trailing with more goals than one, entering into the second leg.

Coutinho who has been out seems November with an Ankle injury was back, substituted in by the Hour mark, introducing some traveling to the Liverpool side who had been struggling through the game, but failed to make clear cut chances.

The Saints continued in their attack at Liverpool, looking ever more dangerous than Liverpool when on a counter attack looking more likely to double their lead, while Coutinho and Sturridge failed at the other end to level the game.
