Everton Vs Tottenham Hotspor Pre Match Analysis

Everton F. C. Will be hosting Tottenham Hotspor at the Goodison Park this weekend in their first game of the 2016/2017 season. The Everton boss will be looking forward to start his campaign in the right foot, though not making much out of the transfers this summer, he will still be expected to do much as it is his first season at the Club. Ronald Koeman who took over the club on the 14th of june has brought in the likes of Gueye A Villa, Stekelenburg, Williams A.  And will be looking forward to making  the most out of this players.

The Tottenham Hotspor side has only few signings this summer due to the resignation of their recruiting chairman,  and has succeeded in bringing  in Eredivisie top scorer Vincent Janssen to strengthen his attack. Though better in books than their opponents, it is not advisable to underrated the Everton side as they always prove to be a good headache for the big teams.

The Everton side will be arrayed with a (5-4-1) formation which will be favorable in stopping the aggressive attack of the spurs side, Ronald Koeman will be hoping to hold up a highly defensive game the make us of the counter attack with enough players in the midfield to make enough hold on the ball before sneaking a pass Lukaku through the use of the flanks. This might be effective to some point as Lukaku is a powerful and accurate stricker. I also feel Lukaku alone will not be too effective against the spur defence.

Everton starting lineup (5-4-1 formation)

Keeper - Stekelenburg

Defense - Coleman, Jagielka, Stones, Funes Mori, Baines

Midfield - McCarthy, Barry, Barkley, Deulofeu

Striker - Lukaku

The Tottenham side will be arrayed in their usual (4-2-3 - 1) formation with the hoping to control the ball in the midfield and creating more chances from the flanks with the two wingers Eriksen and Lamela. The new player Wanamaker will be give opportunity to make his shirt permanent as Dembélé is still on suspension for his poke on Diego Costa.

Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup (4-2-3-1)

Keeper - Lloris;

Defense - Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose

Midfield and forward - Dier, Wanyama; Son, Eriksen, Lamela;

This game will be a game with a narrow goal difference as both teams are both with a more defensive formation than attack say 0-1 in Favour of Tottenham
